Talk show host Tamron Hall welcomed her first child on April 24, 2019.

The former Today show presenter shares a son, Moses Greener, with her music executive husband Steven Greener, whom she married the same year she gave birth to Moses.

Hall announced the birth of her son via an Instagram post, sharing a photo of herself holding the newborn. On her head, she wore a white hat adorned with her son’s name. New father Greener took the photograph of the mother-and-son duo, with Hall noting that her husband “can’t stop crying tears of joy."

“Moses & Mama!! I can’t wait to introduce y’all to my #sonshine,” she wrote in the caption. Hall's son has since become a staple on Hall's Instagram, with the TV personality sharing everything from his silly costumes to birthday posts. He's even involved in her eponymous talk show.

Hall has spoken about her close bond with Moses, too. During the Essence Festival in 2019, the talk show host had to leave Moses with her mom to work the event but spent this time away from her newborn gushing about him to PEOPLE.

He’s hilarious and so chill," she said of Moses. "All of the things that I believe every parent thinksof their child. Now I’m that parent."

Here’s everything to know about Tamron Hall’s son Moses.

The Tamron Hall show host kept most of her pregnancy a secret. She decided to do so based on her struggles and anxieties from her previous IVF journey, which she told PEOPLE about in 2019.

“When I tried in my 30s, I still felt like I had some time, and the fertility clinic felt like a bright room,” she said. “In my 40s I saw all the gray: The faces looked gray, the walls were gray, nothing seemed shiny and optimistic.” Hall became pregnant with Moses when she was 48.

Announcing the news with an emotional Instagram post, Hall cradled her bump while wearing a white one-shoulder dress.

“I’ve wanted to share this news for many months and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place, at 32 weeks, to share my joy with y’all,” she wrote in the caption. “So, it’s clear a daytime talk show isn’t the only thing I’ve been trying to produce!”

Hall gave birth at 48

Hall was 48 years old when she gave birth to Moses. Speaking with PEOPLE shortly after her son’s birth, she discussed her decision to keep her pregnancy a secret.

“I was high-risk, not just because of my age, but there were other medical factors too,” she said in May 2019.

“My doctor said, ‘This is your body, your health. You share of your journey what you want to share,’ ” the mom-of-one continued. “I was terrified I would lose this baby and I would have to go back and tell everyone that now it was bad news, and after this pregnancy had gone so far.”

Hall had insecurities about becoming a mom

Getting candid about becoming a first-time mom, Hall explained to PEOPLE that she sometimes felt “insecure” in her new role. She said that her hopes of solely breastfeeding Moses were not possible because her body wasn't producing enough milk.

“I went into this thinking, ‘Breastfeeding is my goal, but if it doesn’t work, fine. There’s formula,' ” she said in 2019. “But cut to three weeks later, and I’m not able to pump out enough milk."

She went on to detail the anxieties that she felt, explaining that she was worried her son was not drinking enough. But after reaching out to fellow mom friends, Hall ended up learning that everyone she knew also struggled with these insecurities and that she had nothing to worry about.

“You see how afraid we are of being judged, and then when I would get one-on-one with my friends, we’d all peel back those masks that we put on as women, as moms, and suddenly we’re all the same,” Hall said.

That wasn't the only time Hall's expectations of motherhood were challenged either. In a November 2023 profile for The New York Times, Hall reflected on how her parenting opinions have shifted since becoming a mom.

"I always said I was not going to be a parent who has an iPad at the table, but I’m a parent with an iPad at the table. It’s being realistic," she said of her family's Sunday morning routine. "We’ve been up since 6:30 and we want to not rush through our breakfast. Some days we use it, some days we don’t."

Moses was going to have a different name

Before settling on Moses, Hall and Greener’s son was going to have a completely different name — one inspired by Bob Marley.

During an appearance on PEOPLE’s Me Becoming Mom podcast in 2021, the journalist explained that she had already picked out her son’s name early in her pregnancy. However, there was one other name that the couple had considered.

We'd already decided on his name early on — my husband is Jewish, I'm Christian and Moses was the only prophet recognized by all seven religions," she explained. "I could not imagine any other name, although we did bat around Bob, in honor of Bob Marley."

Hall added that she was ultimately "happy” that she didn’t call her child Bob, although she still loves the name.

Hall and Greener are teaching their son about his heritage

Moses’ parents are teaching their little one about his cultural roots, “combining” their lives to make him aware of his mom and dad’s different religions.

"[My husband's] Jewish, so we had a bris here at the house," Hall told PEOPLE. “My mom nearly passed out. We had both grandparents on each side there, and he's going to Texas to have a Christening or a Confirmation at my mom's Southern Baptist church."

"We've just combined our life experience, and we want to teach him tradition," she added.

Moses has a live-in nanny

Hall is very transparent about her parenting style, and in February 2023, she spoke of her decision to have a live-in nanny to help out with childcare.

In an interview with SheKnows, the boy mom explained that it’s “impossible” to do life without the nanny as her nearest family members live 2,000 miles away.

"I made a very conscious and deliberate decision to make sure people knew this about my life," Hall said. "I wasn't going to pretend and I also felt that [to not talk about the live-in nanny] was diminishing this great woman who chose a career to care for my son when I'm not able to be there."

He has been on his mom’s show

In 2021, ahead of the season 3 premiere of Hall’s eponymous talk show, the tot made a surprise appearance in the season's teaser. The clip showed Hall taking a stroll through New York City’s Central Park while a gospel version of Andrew Gold's song "Thank You for Being a Friend" played in the background.

At one point during the promotional video, Hall could be seen sitting beside her son on a bench while smiling and playing with a bright yellow balloon.

It’s not the only time Moses has made a cameo on his mom’s Emmy-winning television show. In April 2023, Moses “took over” the show in honor of his 4th birthday.

“You’re going to meet the youngest producer of the Tamron Hall show,” the host told the camera as she walked down the corridor of the show’s set. “It’s a big day for him."

Explaining that he was “producing this hour," the camera panned to Moses sitting by the sound desk. The proud mom then brought her son a birthday cupcake and he grinned as he blew out the candle.

He underwent emergency surgery before his 2nd birthday

When he was just shy of 2 years old, Moses had to receive urgent medical care and Hall shared about the experience shortly after.

“After an hour-long surgery, he is doing great. Thank God!“ Hall wrote in an Instagram caption in April 2021, thanking the staff at NYU Langone Health. “Last week was a hard one for us, but watching the pediatric team care for Moses and so many other precious children was the best medicine to ease our fears."

In an interview with her former Today co-host Al Roker, Hall praised her past colleague and friend for being there for her during the stressful event.

"My son Moses had surgery a couple months ago, and I was in a panic. I didn't know what to do," Hall revealed during the interview. “I call Al Roker and I said, 'Al, I need your help.' Within seconds, I met the doctor, I'm in the surgery center, and everything worked out just beyond what I could've expected."

His grandma tried to take him on a night out

Hall hilariously admitted that her mom attempted to take Moses out for a night on the town while he was just a newborn baby.

Speaking with PEOPLE during the 2019 Essence Festival, she explained that her mom flew out to New Orleans to assist with babysitting duties while the talk show host worked the event. However, instead of a quiet night in the hotel room, Hall’s mom had other ideas of how she’d like to spend time with her grandson.

“My mom is here from Texas helping me. She’s at the hotel with him right now and attempted to take him to the casino!” Hall said with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘Mom! He can’t go to the casino!’ ”

He cosplayed as Bruno Mars

To mark the end of 2022, Hall shared a "never-before-seen" video of her son.

At some point during the year, whether it was Halloween or an everyday dress-up party, the adorable toddler had an uncanny resemblance to Bruno Mars as he replicated the iconic green outfit that Mars wore during the music video for his song with Cardi B, Please Me.

“I may have missed @silksonic [Mars’ and Anderson .Paak’s music project]live,”she captioned a compilation of photos and videos of Moses wearing a green suit and a drawn-on mustache. “But 'Moses Mars' in concert was one of my favorite shows of 2022," she joked.
