Learn how to make an iced vanilla chai latte like a barista at home. The secret to a great-tasting Chai is getting a concentrated tea blend.
I love a good chai latte. I enjoy making this drink either hot or cold. Today I’m showing you how I make my simple chai latte.
How to make an Iced Vanilla Chai Latte like a barista?
What will you need?
Ingredients:
Chai loose leaf (I get my organic masala chai loose leaf from a coffee shop called Lamill).
Hot water
Milk
Vanilla syrup (for sweetness)
Optional: Tapioca pearls
Note: There a difference between a regular store-bought chai tea compared to a highly concentrated chai tea blend that some specialized coffee or tea shop use. I enjoy buying Chai from grocery stores, but after discovering Lamill’s highly concentrated Chai, I prefer it a little bit more nowadays.
Instructions:
Take 2 tbsp of loose leaf tea and combine it with hot water. Let the tea steep for about 3 – 5 minutes.
Then let it cool for a little bit while you prepare a glass cup, ice cubes, milk, and vanilla syrup.
Strain the Chai into a glass cup. Then add ice cubes.
Carefully pour the milk and add 1 tbsp of vanilla syrup into the glass cup. (Adjust according to your sweetness level. I use a calorie-free, sugar-free vanilla syrup and it’s sweet, so I only use about 1 tsp).
Stir and enjoy it!
Optional: Add tapioca pearls to create a Chai boba latte drink. I use this brand from amazon because it only takes less than five minutes to cook.
