Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races: Unleash the Power
Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping experience as Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races offer an exciting twist this week! Along with the usual race car events, you'll have the chance to choose from a selection of high-performance road cars, each with its own unique characteristics. Prepare to dominate the Tokyo Expressway in Race A, where speed and precision are key.
In this high-octane event, you'll have the freedom to choose from a diverse lineup of 12 pre-tuned and pre-liveried road cars, boasting a combined power output of 11,256hp. The Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise track will challenge your driving skills with its Wangan midnight racers-style course, featuring a rapid East course with a pit straight that can reach speeds of up to 250mph, depending on your car's capabilities. And don't forget the first-corner braking zone in Nagoya! This is a thrilling mix of Japanese and European exotic cars, each with its own style and powertrain options, as well as a wide range of Performance Point (PP) ratings.
But here's the twist: don't be tempted to go for the highest PP value. The R32 Nismo, with its impressive horsepower, currently dominates the leaderboard, but there's also a strong presence of Toyota Supras. And the best part? You can choose from a variety of colors, including purple, making it an easy pick for many players.
However, be warned! Threading your way through the course and avoiding other players' lunges and cautious maneuvers will be a challenge. Perfecting your braking point after slipstreaming up to turn one is crucial. With a four-lap race and all cars equipped with Racing Hard tires, every decision matters.
As an additional note, remember that Driver Rating (DR) updates are temporarily paused this week, while Sportsmanship Rating (SR) updates remain active. Keep an eye on the walls, other cars, and everything around you! This week's other races, Race B and Race C, offer more routine experiences, but they still pack a punch.
Race B is a standard Gr.3 sprint at Deep Forest Raceway, with a regular direction that makes the first hairpin less daunting. You can choose any Gr.3 car with Racing Medium tires, but be aware of the Viper supremacy this week. It's a six-lap race with no strategy considerations, just lights-to-flag action.
Race C takes you to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Gr.4 cars, using the 'No Chicane' layout. The Citroen GT by Citroen is expected to be the overwhelming favorite, but feel free to choose any Gr.4 car with Racing Medium tires. However, be cautious of the tire wear multiplier, which is set at 4x, making your tires wear four times faster than usual. Front-left tires will be particularly challenging, so consider your tire strategy carefully during the 11-lap race.
Mandatory pit stops are in effect, so be prepared to make a stop. Failing to do so will result in a one-minute penalty added to your race time. Keep an eye on the pit entry and exit lines, especially the long exit line, as crossing them will earn you a three-second on-track penalty for each offense.
Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in Gran Turismo 7, and your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are updated at the end of each race. These ratings determine your ranking and league for the game's esports series, so perform well to climb the ranks!
To access the Daily Races, unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9, 'Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade,' in the GT Cafe single-player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to participate. With updates every Monday throughout the game's lifespan, the next new set of races will be available on November 24.
Remember, Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races offer a unique blend of high-performance cars and challenging courses, providing an exciting experience for all players. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to dominate the virtual race tracks!
